Art Requires Humanity Don't Let AI Take Yours

Generative AI Slop has no place in any artistic discipline. Video games, TV, movies, music, and creations of all kinds have been threatened by this trash, and that is something I absolutely cannot abide.

So in this video essay, we dive into why the human element is absolutely required for art and why we should never give it up.

Also, I am aware of the AI controversy surrounding Clair Obscur. Here’s why I felt comfortable including footage from it anyway. When AI first came out, the developers decided to experiment with it because it was brand new, and after using it, they found out that they didn’t like it and decided not to use it anymore. The result of this experimentation was a single placeholder texture that was accidentally left in the finished product, which was replaced within days of release. So that’s why I felt comfortable including footage of the game in this video, as Generative AI had no meaningful impact on the development of the game.
