Psychological Evidence in Immigration, Asylum & Trafficking cases: A Conversation with Mai Kelly

In this immigration law conversation I chat to Consultant Psychologist Mai Kelly, the founder and director of Panta-Rei Psychology at Work. We discuss psychological assessments in immigration cases, how to get the best out of your expert and how as immigration lawyers we can protect our own psychological wellbeing.

About Mai:
Mai Kelly is a Consultant Chartered Psychologist and Registered Practitioner Psychologist working in private practice and in other clinical and business settings; Mai was also a lecturer and supervisor at the Royal Holloway University Post MA course in High Intensity CBT, training new High Intensity CBT therapists within their NHS settings.
Her academic and professional qualifications include both undergraduate and postgraduate training in psychology, clinical work, business psychology, supervision and in expert witness skills. Her clinical work that spans over 20 years also include over 10 years’ experience working as a senior psychologist and as the head of mental health service in the NHS.
Her skill set is diverse and covers assessment and therapy for teenagers, adults and minority ethnic groups for a wide range of conditions and a specific interest and specialty in PTSD, psychological aspects of physical health, immigration and uprootedness and mechanisms of change. She is a member of the British Psychological Society, Registered Practitioner Psychologist with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) as well as a member of other professional bodies.
