Anyone can contribute to scientific discoveries, simply by having fun bird watching. Jan will use a case study of a farmer leading one of the most exciting discoveries in bird research of the last few decades! Jan has worked closely with the people involved in this research in the Netherlands.
The combination of eBird/iNaturalist use (citizen science) by many of our members and the similarities in landscape (farm land) between the study site and Alberta is an example of how members can also contribute.
