✨ Frontier Lithium unveils plans for a Sudbury-headquartered, vertically integrated lithium project powering Ontario’s EV future.
At the CEN CAN Expo in Thunder Bay (Sept 11), Frontier Lithium shared major updates on its vertically integrated lithium project, a first-of-its-kind initiative in Ontario designed to supply the EV and battery market.
CEO Trevor Walker outlined the project’s progress, strategic partnerships, and commitment to community collaboration and sustainability.
👉 Key highlights include:
✅ A 31-year mine life at Pak & Spark deposits in NW Ontario, with potential expansion to 80–100 years
✅ A Thunder Bay lithium conversion facility at Mission Island, producing 20,000 tons annually — enough for 500,000 EVs
✅ Partnership with Mitsubishi Corporation (7.5% stake) to support long-term growth
✅ Strong federal and provincial government support & funding commitments
✅ $932M NPV and $285M average annual earnings from the mine
✅ Zero-liquid discharge system + water & reagent recycling for ecological protection
✅ 500+ construction jobs and 200+ permanent positions — family-supporting wages
✅ Strategic alignment with Canada’s and Ontario’s critical minerals & EV goals
✅ Ongoing engagement with Indigenous and local communities to ensure long-term benefits
Frontier Lithium’s vertically integrated model connects mining to processing, securing Ontario’s place in the global critical minerals supply chain while driving decarbonization and community growth.
