There isn't much snow at the moment so I' am able to collect birch bark and dead fallen trees off the ground. I drag the small diameter trees back down to the cabin area to be cut up into firewood. This is a difficult task as the terrain is steep with thick brush. I spend the next several hours bucking up the wood I've collected until night sets in. I decide to call it a night and head back to the cabin for a late supper, I have eggs with sausage and toast. After supper I continue knitting my pair of cabin socks and do some light reading. I' am exhausted and go to bed early. I woke up a couple of times during the night with the woodstove almost out. Luckily it hasn't been too cold lately. I sleep for a total of eleven hours which is unusual. After a hot cup of tea I continue on with the firewood of bucking, hauling, splitting and stacking. Feeling like I' am in a good position of being ahead, I decide to call it a day and arrange for a pick up
