How to make Char Cloth in an Altoids tin

I figured that I would test out Brian from Survival on Purpose's test of making char cloth in an Altoids tin with no holes. Works great. I think I need some heavier fabric like denim, the t shirt worked but the char cloth came out pretty thin.
