国鉄が運営する筈だったニュータウン路線が苦戦してるっぽいので見に行ったら...

神戸電鉄公園都市線のビデオです。
当線は北摂三田ニュータウンのアクセス鉄道として作られた鉄道路線です。
元々は国鉄福知山線がルート変更の上、乗り入れる予定でしたが、地元の強硬な反対により国鉄での運営ではなく、地元の神戸電鉄が担う事になりました。

1980年当時、36000人だった三田市の人口は福知山線新三田までの複線電化により大阪への利便性が飛躍的に向上したことから、今現在は10万人都市になりました。

三田市民の大半は北摂三田ニュータウンに住んでいると思われます。

しかしながら、大阪梅田直通の高速バスがあるのと、始発電車の多い新三田までバスで向かう住民が多く、大量輸送機関の強みが活かせていないような雰囲気をいつも感じます。

This is a video of the Kobe Electric Railway Koen Toshi Line.
This line was constructed as an access railway for the Hokusetsu Sanda New Town.
Originally, the Japanese National Railways Fukuchiyama Line was planned to enter the area after a route change, but due to strong local opposition, operation was not undertaken by the national railways. Instead, the local Kobe Electric Railway assumed responsibility.

In 1980, Sanda City had a population of 36,000. The double-tracking and electrification of the Fukuchiyama Line to Shin-Sanda dramatically improved access to Osaka, leading to the city's current population of 100,000.

It is believed that the majority of Sanda citizens reside in the Hokusetsu Sanda New Town.

However, I always sense an atmosphere where the strengths of mass transit aren't being fully utilized. This is likely because many residents take the bus to Shin-Sanda, where many first trains depart, and because there are express buses running directly to Osaka Umeda.
