The Mesencephalon is a place that has three Autistic phenotype problems: 1) hearing/audition, 2) eye movements, 3) motor movement control. This covers the audition, which is the Wave V in the Auditory Brainstem Response (ABR) test. This is done on new borns, within 3 days of life, and can detect Autism.
But, more interestingly, the MESENCEPHALON again.
Auditory, Eye Movements, and Motor Movements are abnormal within the MESENCEPHALON for the Autistic Phenotype.
It is screaming at us. (Auditory Joke).
