Pokèmon S/M Remix: Lusamine Battle 2nd Remix

This is probably my most ominous remix yet, and honestly, one of the most emotionally charged projects I’ve worked on in a while. I know the Halloween season just finished (even though I don’t personally celebrate it), but the atmosphere around this time of year always seems to inspire darker and more cinematic ideas in my music. It felt like the perfect opportunity to revisit a theme I’ve always been drawn to Lusamine’s theme from Pokémon Sun & Moon.

Lusamine as a character has always fascinated me. She’s complex, elegant, and terrifying in her own way a figure driven by love, control, and obsession all at once. When I first remixed her theme, I felt like I only scratched the surface of what could be expressed musically. This time, I wanted to go deeper. I wanted to focus less on making something “catchy” or “energetic,” and more on capturing her psychology the descent into that beautiful, unsettling madness that defines her arc in the original Sun & Moon.

For that reason, I decided to omit my usual Drum & Bass approach and instead build the remix around a more glitchy, atmospheric structure. I leaned into distortion, heavy reverb, and fragmented melodies to evoke that sense of unease and unpredictability. The track isn’t about rhythm or momentum it’s about tension, contrast, and emotional weight. Every sound, from the warped pads to the fractured percussion, was designed to feel unstable, as if the world itself is fracturing under the pressure of Lusamine’s obsession.

I wanted the remix to tell a story on its own. It’s not a retelling of a battle theme, but more of an emotional portrait the internal chaos of someone trying to control everything, even as everything starts to fall apart. The glitching elements are intentional; they symbolize the cracks in her perfection, the dissonance between her desire to protect and her inability to let go. Beneath the noise and darkness, you can still hear faint traces of warmth little melodic fragments that represent who she once was before she became consumed by her ideals.

Sonically, this remix sits somewhere between cinematic ambient and glitch electronica. I wanted it to feel like a psychological landscape rather than a straightforward track. The pacing is slower, the textures are denser, and the overall tone is colder. It’s probably the most experimental I’ve gone in terms of atmosphere but that’s exactly why I’m proud of it. It’s not a track made to be played in the background; it’s meant to be experienced headphones on, lights low, and fully immersed.

This will also mark the last DnB remix for a while. I’ve been doing Drum & Bass for quite some time, and while I still love the genre, I feel like it’s time to explore other territories for a bit. I want to keep evolving to surprise both myself and my listeners. Taking a break from DnB doesn’t mean stepping away from energy or emotion; it just means letting my creativity stretch in new directions. I think this Lusamine remix represents that transition stepping into something darker, moodier, and more introspective.
