Pure Pure Heart - Backing Vocals Only【YUI-MUGI】K-On!!

I tried to also show who sings when! All parts sung by Yui Hirasawa (平沢 唯) & Tsumugi Kotobuki* (琴吹 紬*) in the full version of the performance from S2E7! Half gray Mio = only her lead vocal stereo fx are heard
I use these for 3D music in VRC but I want to share them because the quality is so uniquely high!

*2024/1: After using a new generation AI program (UVR) to split my "all vocals only" isolation into stereo lead and backing vocals, and experimenting to get further approximate isolations of individual harmony vocals, it seems more likely that Yui is actually doing ALL the backing vocals in this song – so including the higher harmonies, yet still at 3:07 the higher Yui really sounds like Mugi.

The harmony is so cool! Yui's vocals kinda overpower Mugi's higher notes though. Also, Yui is singing the interjections twice at the same time, so technically this has the backing of those lead interjections, which is just crazy! I like how the video turned out as well, using the art style from the CD cover! The hearts become Aka when a heart is mentioned for fun and Pyua at the most emotional parts!





GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
No AI or other filters were used at all. It's isolated using only phase cancellation. I simply inverted the right track over the left in the all-vocals track that I already isolated, added some delay effects for a pseudo-stereo feel! No effects applied on the left audio channel. Overall it's about 2dB (left side only is -8dB) lower than the original recording. Look at the tutorial I made in the playlist description for more details:

I think the very quiet parts from the other instruments carrying over is mostly from the many small audio compression differences between the tracks, although I kinda like it like that. It feels like the sound is bleeding over from them wearing headphones when singing along to the song or something
