오늘 소개해드릴 곳은 바로 나고야에 위치한 일본 3대 철도 박물관인 리니어*철도관(リニア・鉄道館)입니다. 2011년도에 개관했으니 벌써 14년이 된 철도박물관 입니다.

나고야시내에서 남쪽의 나고야 항구 쪽으로 이동해야 합니다. JR나고야역에 같이 위치하고 있는 아오나미선(あおなみ線)의 전차를 타고 종착역인 긴조후토역(金城阜頭駅)에 내립니다. 이 아오나미선은 11개역을 가지고 있고 2004년에 개통한 노선입니다. 종점에 리니어철도관이 보이기 시작하는데 그 외부가 마치 리니어 열차(자기부상열차)를 형상화 해놓았습니다.

입구를 들어가 오른쪽으로 어두운 홀이 하나 나옵니다. C62형 증기 기관차와 신칸센 시험전차 955형, 자기부상열차인 MLX01형이 나란히 전시되어 있습니다.

C62형은 그 당시 최고의 속도를 자랑했습니다. 증기기관차로 무려 129Km/h의 속도로 당시의 최고 신기록이죠. 하지만 증기기관차의 최고 속도 기록은 영국의 맬러드호가 낸 기록으로 무려 202km/h입니다.

신칸센 시험전차인 955형은 96년 기준 443Km/h 입니다. 엄청난 스피드를 자랑하죠. 하지만 자기 부상열차 MLX1형의 최고속도는 무려 581Km/h 입니다. 그만큼 철도의 기술이 발달된 것입니다. 대형스크린에서는 일본 열차의 시초부터 미래까지 한눈에 볼 수 있습니다.

리니어*철도관에는 39개의 차량이 전시되어 있습니다. 입구의 홀을 지나 메인 전시장에 들어서면 주요 열차들이 나란히 전시되어 있습니다. 또한 흥미로운 것은 국철시대의 국철버스 1호 차가 전시되어 있습니다.100여년 전의 열차부터 디젤기관차 전기기관차, 신칸센까지 수 많은 객차들이 전시되어 있고 직접 타볼 수도 있습니다.

역시 리니어*철도관의 메인은 자기부상열차의 시험 체험이 가능하다는 것입니다. 의자에 앉아서 리니어시험선(야마나시현 소재)을 동영상으로 체험 가능합니다. 도쿄에서 나고야까지 완성되면 10Cm를 떠서 40분만에 도착하니 비행기보다 훨씬 경쟁력이 있습니다. 최근에 야마나시시험선에서 시속 603Km/h를 기록했으니 엄청난 스피드 입니다.

또한 재미있는 것은 "신칸센운전시뮬레이터" 체험인데 물론 유료(500엔)이지만 모든 분들이 체험을 할 수 없어 추첨제로 운영 합니다. 당첨이 안되었다고 너무 서운해 하지 마세요. 전차 시뮬레이터가 옆에 8대 준비되어 있고 100엔 체험권을 구입하면 약 10여분의 체험이 가능 합니다.

역시 철도 박물관의 최고감상은 바로 "철도모형디오라마"입니다. 역시 일본 3대 철도 박물관의 위용으로 도쿄에서 나고야와 교토, 오사카까지의 철도 노선을 모형으로 전시 운행하고 있습니다. 매시 0분과 30분에 20분간 상영하고 디오라마관의 내부는 쉴 새 없이 열차가 운행을 합니다.정말 너무나 상세하게 재현해 놓았고 역시 메인은 JR나고야역입니다. 해가지는 것도 조명으로 표현해 놓아서 밤에 야간 운행하는 모습도 재현해 놓았습니다. 리니어철도관 근처에는 최근에 개장한 "레고랜드나고야"가 있어 아이들과 함께 가보신다면 후회 없을 것 입니다.

You need to go south from Nagoya City to Nagoya Port. Take the Aonami Line (あおなみ線), which is located at the same JR Nagoya Station, and get off at the terminal station, Kinjofuto Station (金城阜頭駅). This Aonami Line has 11 stations and opened in 2004. The Linear Railway Museum begins to appear at the terminal, and its exterior is shaped like a linear train (magnetic levitation train).

When you enter the entrance, a dark hall appears on the right. The C62 steam locomotive, the Shinkansen test train 955, and the MLX01 magnetic levitation train are displayed side by side.

The C62 boasted the fastest speed at the time. It was a steam locomotive with a speed of 129 km/h, which was the fastest record at the time. However, the fastest steam locomotive record was set by the British Mallard, which was a whopping 202 km/h.

Numerous passenger cars, from trains from over 100 years ago to diesel locomotives, electric locomotives, and Shinkansen, are on display and you can even ride them yourself.

The main attraction of the Linear Railway Museum is the experience of testing a magnetic levitation train. You can sit on a chair and watch a video of the Linear Test Line (located in Yamanashi Prefecture). From Tokyo to Nagoya, if completed, it will take 10cm and arrive in 40 minutes, so it is much more competitive than an airplane. Recently, it recorded 603km/h on the Yamanashi Test Line, so it is an incredible speed. Another fun thing is the "Shinkansen Driving Simulator" experience, which of course costs money (500 yen), but not everyone can experience it, so it is operated by lottery.

Don't be too upset if you didn't win. There are 8 train simulators next to it, and if you purchase a 100 yen experience ticket, you can experience it for about 10 minutes.

The best part of the railway museum is the "railway model diorama." As one of the three major railway museums in Japan, it exhibits models of railway lines from Tokyo to Nagoya, Kyoto, and Osaka. It is shown for 20 minutes at 0 and 30 minutes every hour, and trains run continuously inside the diorama hall. It is reproduced in such great detail, and the main attraction is JR Nagoya Station. The sunset is also expressed with lighting, so the nighttime operation is also reproduced. Near the Linear Railway Museum is the recently opened "Legoland Nagoya," so if you go with your children, you won't regret it.
