Ofala 2026: Isuofia Crowns Sir Eugene Osele, Celebrates Excellence and Legacy

The ancient town of Isuofia, Aguata Local Government Area of Anambra State, stood still in regal splendour on January 3, 2026, as Sir Eugene Ikechukwu Osele (Ozonwayo), a renowned Pharmaceutical Guru and philanthropist, was conferred with a prestigious chieftaincy title during the community’s 4th Ofala Festival.
The historic investiture took place at the palace of the Traditional Ruler of Isuofia, His Royal Highness, Igwe C.A.O. Muoghalu (Isu II of Isuofia), who honoured Sir Eugene Osele with the title “Akajiugo Isuofia”, a title symbolizing strength, courage, and enduring service to humanity and community.
In the same royal moment, his wife, Lolo Ogechukwu Eugene Osele, was gracefully crowned with the revered female title “Oji di Eme Nwa”, in recognition of her support, virtue, and contributions to family and society.
The ceremony attracted a distinguished assemblage of dignitaries, including His Excellency, Prof. Chukwuma Charles Soludo, CFR, Executive Governor of Anambra State and proud son of Isuofia, accompanied by members of the Anambra State Executive Council, traditional rulers, political leaders, captains of industry, and respected community stakeholders.
Also present were Traditional Rulers of Aguata, led by HRH Igwe Chidi Stephen Ezenwugo (Obi of Uga), Chairman of the Anambra State Traditional Rulers Council, Aguata Chapter, alongside top community leaders and cultural custodians.
In his royal address, Igwe Muoghalu (Isu II) emphasized the core values of peace, unity, cultural pride, and collective community development, noting that chieftaincy honours remain instruments for promoting responsible leadership and service.
Governor Soludo, in his goodwill message, expressed deep gratitude to the people of Isuofia for their overwhelming support during the November 8, 2025 Anambra Governorship Election, reaffirming his administration’s commitment to delivering greater dividends of democracy in his second term.
Other eminent personalities invested with chieftaincy titles at the colourful ceremony included:

• Chief Ifeanyi Cosmas Ibeabuchi
• Prof. Ikechukwu Innocent Umeh - Ife Chukwu Munyelu n’ Isuofia
• Osele Patrick Okwudili - Osisioma Isuofia
Following the palace rites, celebrations moved to the Umueze Isuofia residence of Chief Sir Eugene Osele, Akajiugo I of Isuofia, where guests were hosted to a grand reception marked by music, dance, and thanksgiving. Members of the Elite Club of Isuofia, friends, associates, and well-wishers joined the jubilant atmosphere.
Speaking with the press, Chief Eugene Osele returned all glory to God, describing the honour as a call to deeper service, while reaffirming his continued commitment to philanthropy and sustainable community development.
The entire royal ordinance and traditional processes were conducted under the authority of HRH Igwe C.A.O. Muoghalu, and coordinated by the Traditional Prime Minister of Isuofia, Chief Ndubuisi Osele, in line with established customs. All awardees received officially signed certificates from the Traditional Ruler.
The 4th Ofala Festival thus reaffirmed Isuofia’s enduring cultural heritage, unity, and recognition of excellence in service.
