To Hilo and back on the big Island in 4k

Aloha, fellow travelers! Welcome back to our channel. Today, we embark on a road trip on the beautiful Big Island of Hawaii. We journey from Waikoloa Village to Hilo via Waimea to visit the Akaka Falls and Rainbow Falls.

We begin in Waikoloa Village, a resort area on the Kohala Coast. Cruise along Queen Ka'ahumanu Highway, surrounded by lava fields and lush greenery. The views are mesmerizing, with the vast Pacific Ocean on one side and the towering Mauna Kea on the other.

Next, we head to the historic town of Hilo on the island’s eastern side. The drive from Waikoloa to Hilo takes you through diverse landscapes, from lava deserts to tropical rainforests. Once in Hilo, we went to the vibrant farmers' market, where local fruits, snacks, and handmade crafts can be found. Hilo is also home to the iconic Rainbow Falls and the lush Wailuku River State Park. A short hike will reward you with breathtaking views of the cascading water and vibrant rainbows.

Akaka Falls is nestled in the lush Akaka Falls State Park. A short hike takes you through a tropical rainforest filled with exotic plants and flowers. Finally, you'll arrive at the 442-foot Akaka Falls, a powerful and majestic waterfall surrounded by lush greenery. It's a sight to behold and a must-see on your Big Island adventure.

Just outside Hilo, the Rainbow Falls is named for the frequent rainbows arching over its cascading waters. This waterfall is surrounded by tropical foliage, creating a magical atmosphere. Take your time to enjoy the serenity of the area and the natural beauty that Hawaii is famous for.
