A Beginner's hike up in San Jacinto Wilderness, beginning at the Palm Springs Aerial Tramway. At 8,650', this is a great hike to test your altitude hiking, on a short 1.6-mile flat trail. We loved this hike and the views were spectacular. The easiest way to get to this hike is via the tram; alternatively, you could take the Devil's Slide trail (from Humber Park in Idyllwild) up to the Saddle, then take Meadow Springs Trail to the Long Valley Loop! That's what we did over our three-day hike - like below.
