Trading without stops and why stops don't work. A bit of a controversial topic this one. I've done videos before on how to manage your trades without stops. It is a fact that for most strategies when they are backtested, if you put a stop loss in that generally has a negative outcome on the strategy. If you test the strategy without a stop you generally get better results. Yes, you get days when you get wiped out but ultimately over the long term the backtesting performance is better without stops. So why do we use stops if we know they have a negative impact on our trading? The answer is of course that we want to protect ourselves against loss. Can you trade more profitably without stop losses? Do professional traders use stop losses? Can you be a successful trader without using stop orders? Can you manage the risk without stops? OK.P
