"This is also a piece from classical repertory. The gidzhak is a bowed string instrument similar to ones found in Iran, Uzbekistan, and Azerbaijan. According to folklore, the inventor of the gidzhak was a person named Ibn Si'na (980-1037 AD). There are two-, three-, and four-stringed gidzhak, the latter being the most commonly performed in concerts. It is stood on the knees of the performer when played. Drum accompaniment here is provided by the doira."
