Hosted by UBC CPD and the Joint Collaborative Committees (JCCs), this webinar explores the key principles of providing culturally safe care to Inuit patients, focusing on their unique cultural norms, values and communication styles.
The session was led by Kevin Qamaniq-Mason of Akiani Consulting, who has spent more than a decade advancing Inuit rights and equal access in the public and community sectors. Kevin guides learners to navigate cross-cultural interactions with sensitivity, awareness and cultural humility. Participants will also be introduced to tools and strategies to aid in the provision of culturally safe care.
