Learn how to make wine at home from wine juice with Jennifer Prothow, the Mad Wine Chemist. Today we’re making both red and white wine. The steps are the same, but the ingredients are slightly different. Follow along as we start fermentation in Part 1!

Ingredients:
3 gallons room-temperature 100% grape juice (red, white)
1 ¼ cups sugar
1 tbsp acid blend
¼ tsp wine tannin
1 tbsp yeast nutrient
1 packet wine yeast (we used Red Star Premier Classique yeast for red and the Red Star Cote des Blancs for the white wine)

Graduated cylinder
Stirring paddle
Measuring cups
Hand corker
Wine bottles
Star San sanitizer
Auto siphon with bottling wand
Corks
