November 1978, day 217 after the outbreak. The United States is devastated by a mysterious plague that reanimates recently deceased human beings as flesh-eating zombies. At the dawn of the crisis, it has been reported that millions of people have perished and reanimated. Despite the government's best efforts, social order has collapsed. While rural communities have natural barriers, such as Johnstown, and the National Guard have been effective in fighting the zombie hordes in open country, urban centers have descended into chaos. After fleeing the television studio in Philadelphia with a news helicopter Fran, Stephen, Roger, and Peter took over and fortified the abandoned Monroeville Mall, creating a cozy safe room in the backrooms of the facility. With enough supplies, food, water and other luxuries they could live here for a long time. But soon it dawns on them that they are the true walking dead.
The footage in this video was taken from the nostalgic 70s movie Dawn of the Dead. The soundscape consists of fluorescent light hum buzz white noise, and faint sounds of zombies from another room. No music this time.
