In a small, quiet cemetery in West End, Southampton, lies a hero whose quick thinking saved over 700 souls on the night the Titanic sank. But how many know where to find him?
This is the story of my search for the final resting place of Sir Arthur Rostron, the heroic commander of the RMS Carpathia. Join me as we journey from his service at St. James's Church to his quiet grave, uncovering the story of the man it honours.
We'll explore his incredible life, from his birth in a stone cottage in Sharples to becoming Commodore of the Cunard fleet. This is more than just a visit to a headstone; it's a tribute to the man whose name is forever linked with the Titanic disaster.
