2nd Sunday after Epiphany II | Jeremiah 14:1–9
Theme: Prayer as an Empty Bucket
📍 St Andrews | St Paul’s Stutterheim | St Paul’s Macleantown
🗓 18 January 2026
Prayer does not begin when life is full and easy.
It begins when the bucket is empty.
Jeremiah speaks into drought, exhaustion, and unanswered questions. He does not explain the pain or soften it. He names it. Empty wells. Cracked ground. Tired people. And still, he prays.
Prayer names real suffering.
Prayer admits failure without excuses.
Prayer turns toward God, even when God feels distant.
The bucket stays empty. The rain does not come.
But prayer keeps us facing God.
That is where grace meets us.
Not when we have answers.
But when our hands hold nothing.
Keep praying. Keep trusting.
Hold your empty bucket before God.
