FOR SALE: 1971 Volkswagen VW T2 Camper

This charming and delightful 1971 Volkswagen T2 Bay Window camper is now for sale on behalf of a valued customer. Recently recommissioned by Nick Nakorn at Nagara Automotive, the camper benefitted from a previous restoration and refit many years ago that included a bare-metal respray and a new interior including a new sink and cooker.

The van is left-hand-drive. Originally from California, USA, it is very, very solid underneath. The wheel arches and floor-pan have recently been painted and can be further treated with wax-oil or similar if required by the new owner.

The recommissioning included a new clutch, new rear brakes, new brake servo, rebuilt pressure valve and brake pressure switches. The gear-change received new bushes. Much of the hot-air ducting was replaced with new clips and some of the wiring under the car and behind the dashboard was replaced along with a new speedo-drive. The camper also has a new horn and new heater control knobs.

The 1600 cc engine pulls well and has excellent compression. It has had a recent oil-change and tune-up and the camper hums along very nicely. The steering box has been adjusted.

The van presents well and is perfect for stay-cation camping. It is priced very competitively at £16,000 or near offer. Currently it is garaged in south Devon, UK.
