People from across northern Michigan gathered Saturday evening to honor the lives of Rebecca Park and her baby, who authorities say were murdered.
The biological mother and stepfather are believed to be responsible for the crime.
A candlelight vigil took place at 21 1/2 Road in Boon, where guests arrived with candles, flowers, and photos to celebrate Rebecca's life.
Community members shared memories, embraced one another, and offered quiet moments of reflection as candles filled the area with light.
Jodi Lewis, a vigil coordinator, expressed hope that Rebecca was "smiling down from heaven right now watching all this, feeling the love. We hope that's how she's feeling." Lewis added, "We just want to send some love up to her right now, her and baby Park."
Among the crowd were familiar faces who had been involved in searches, court appearances, and community gatherings since Rebecca went missing.
Caleb Hudson, a friend of Rebecca, said, "It just means a lot that everybody did come out because I mean, it's kind of a lot of support for the ones that were close with her. Everybody just coming out and actually seeing the good in the community and not just the bad."
The vigil also provided food, prayers, and music honoring Rebecca's life, giving loved ones a moment to breathe, reflect, and feel the community around them.
