yes, you can. Nothing can align align too badly with the belt on, nor get unusually stressed. The main seal would be quite tricky tho. I've found an odd T-shaped seal that would do great here. If anyone knows where to order the t-shaped seal I mentioned, please share details. (Here is a short video on that • short question for www about this odd vvti... ) While the added thickness might not affect your alignment marks, could it still impact the laser-aligned backlash (and thus throw off the value of the markings)?
NOTE: the seal on the middle/traveling vvti gear is actual a plastic coaster with a diagonal slit.
use thread lock and torque the 5 screws to 10ftlbs torque
torque the 14mm cap to the gear assy at 11ftlbs, new seal recommended.
