This is the Harley Hill Road level crossing at Berry, it is located between Kiama and Nowra, on the south coast of NSW.
The crossing was passive until September 20, 2025 when these gated signals were installed. While the equipment here is nothing out of the ordinary, the scenery is nice and this is the first passive crossing to be upgraded on the Sydney Trains network in quite some time.
Both signals have Western Cullen Hayes bases and gate mechanisms, United Group LED lights and Western Cullen Hayes electronic bells. The bell on the northern signal rings only until the gates have lowered.
Train information:
1st train: KN27 passenger service from Kiama to Bomaderry.
2nd train: 9877 empty flour from Bomaderry to Manildra, with locomotives MAN001, MAN017 and MAN006.
Filmed on October 13, 2025.
