This is a really good fly pattern for trout fishing on lakes. I use the pattern a lot on Lake Oostvoorne in the Netherlands with great succes. I fish it on a floating line with a long 14ft mono leader + 4ft of fluorocarbon tippet.
The CDC is translucent and looks very realistic, just let the fly hoover and fish it with a slow retrieve.
