How to Use Impressionism by Spitfire: Examples and Insights

On paper, Impressionist music looks a lot like film music. Lingering dissonance, unresolved cadences, whole tone scales, planing, extended chords. Yet most of the time we don't consult the Impressionist repertoire when writing cues. (Or do you? I'm interested in your comments.) So why might you choose Spitfire Audio's Impressionism over something else in your arsenal?

In this video I provide a tour and tips, a brief contextual demo sketch, a "first look" noodle and some isolated explorations of many of the techniques. My hope is that you'll come away with a clear understanding of all the plugin's main controls, some ideas for how to take advantage of the sounds on offer, and a good "impression" of the sounds available.
