The easiest method I found to make wood ring blanks for inlay on my DIY CNC machine. I use the CNC as a lathe with only 2 axis, that not need any modification. I already have the spindle on Z axis and the X axis as a lathe have. The only difference is that a lathe will move the tools and here the spindle will move, but the g-code did not know that and work the same. With this method I can make all the features on the ring at once, like comfort fit for the inside of the ring, also the grove for the inlay, chamfers and so on.
