During the late afternoon of April 29, 2015, minor damage occurred at a barn southwest of Whitewater, WI. A trained storm spotter indicated a landspout (or gustnado) that spun up from the ground. Rain showers, no thunder, and a cool breeze off of Lake Michigan interacted to create this unusual phenomenon. In this video, FOX6 Milwaukee Chief Meteorologist Vince Condella explains how these landspouts form.
