This video documents a real-time interaction while I was recording from a public sidewalk outside an AMPM/ARCO gas station in Chula Vista
For the majority of this recording, people were friendly, waved, or simply ignored the camera entirely. Later in the video, one individual became aggressive, made threats, and chased me into a busy street, which ultimately resulted in police responding to the area.
The officers who arrived conducted themselves professionally and confirmed that I was not doing anything illegal while recording from a public space.
This footage is presented largely unedited, as recorded, to document how everyday interactions in public and how First Amendment rights are treated in real-world situations.
