How to Structure a Trilogy

The trilogy is the most popular series format, and many authors and stories have found great success with it. However, structuring a trilogy requires different considerations than writing a standalone, or even a series of longer books. It's like simultaneously writing one long story, split into three volumes, and three books with their own arcs.

Although it can seem complicated, structuring a trilogy can be done with a few adaptations to a classic three act structure!
