Some days on our Swedish homestead feel like a race against daylight and this one definitely did. With winter creeping in fast, we tried to get as many chores done as possible before the sun disappeared behind the trees. Moving firewood, tidying the garden, reorganizing furniture, and checking the greenhouse… it was supposed to be a simple chore day.

But homestead life always has surprises and this time, a very determined woodpecker decided to attack our security camera. We truly never thought a woodpecker could cause this much damage. Between frozen ground, early sunsets, and unexpected repairs, the day quickly turned into homestead chaos before the snow arrives.
