Language and culture are inextricably intertwined. Language is crucial to both learning and sharing a culture. Culture also impacts and influences the rules and evolution of language. Like Lucy and Ricky, Calvin and Hobbs, and Merriam and Webster, it’s hard to imagine one without the other! This mini-lecture explores the dynamic interaction between language and culture and the impact of language on some particular aspects of culture.
