A new virus similar to the SARS virus that killed several hundred people in 2003 has been identified in a patient being treated in a London hospital. The 49-year old man from Qatar, said to be suffering from respiratory and renal failure, is the second person diagnosed with the illness. The first case was in Saudi Arabia and the patient has since died. Public health officials are still trying to determine what kind of threat the new virus poses.
