How to Sound More CONFIDENT in Conversations | Interpersonal communication in the workplace

When we think of how to be more confident or how to SOUND more confident, we often focus on big events like a presentation, a meeting or a job interview. But simple workplace conversations say a lot more about our inner self-confidence.

In this video, you’ll learn about some speaking habits and phrases that may be sending the wrong message, and what you can say instead to SOUND more confident and boost your credibility.

Phrases such as “I’m sorry!” when used frequently and in the wrong way can send signals that you lack confidence, even if that's not true.

Here are a few speaking habits that undermine our confidence (and signal that we may have low self-esteem):

🚫 Apologizing for no reason
🚫 Using “we” instead of “I”
🚫 Not taking compliments

To have effective communication in the workplace, in addition to improving our public speaking skills, it’s imperative to also improve our interpersonal skills.
