Dr. Biff Franklin Palmer presents topical ideas on the pathophysiology, diagnosis and treatment of metabolic alkalosis, based upon his review paper "Metabolic Alkalosis Treatment Standard" in Nephrology Dialysis Transplantation - NDT, which has been picked by the journal's Editor-in-Chief Dr. Hans-Joachim Anders and by MARKUS @ HOMe editors as our “NDT's Paper of the Month”.
Dr. Biff Palmer is Nephrologist and Professor in the Departments of Internal Medicine and Medical Education at Texas Tech University Health Science Center in El Paso, Texas. His academic work focusses upon physiology and pathophysiology of human electrolyte regulation, and he has co-authored numerous papers in leading nephrological journals on potassium disorders.
