Kirill Shirokov - Moscow composer, musician, performer, poet, and independent curator. Focuses on extended pieces and situations, working with silence, movements, field recordings, melodies, noises, interdisciplinary connections. An important field of his attention is perception/listening/hearing. Among music performers are La Gol, Alter Ego, the ensemble The Same, Leo Svirsky, N'Caged, Eva Maria Huben, MASМ, Dante Boon, Vacuum Quartet, Jherman Sastramana, Coen Nutter, and other musicians with a wide range of personal backgrounds and views on sound and music. In collaborations, he explores sound/temporal relationships and pure acoustic experience in a wide range of interactions - with improvisers, independent composers, sound artists, pop musicians. Some works have been released on labels like Steep Gloss, Edition Wandelweiser, SUPERPANG, and others.
Performer of Russian premieres of compositions by Antoine Beuger, Laurence Crane, Jürg Frey, Alvin Lucier, Johan Lindvall, and many others. Former curator of the DianaPlaysPerception ensemble and the Silent Music Consort formation.
Actively participates as a lecturer, mainly thematicizing the experience of perception, as a practical teacher and independent researcher, studying the experience of contemporary artists as well as historical motifs.
