Holiday Inn Frankfurt Airport (Executive Room)

Room tour of a Premium Room of the Holiday Inn Frankfurt Alte Oper.

The hotel is located in Gateway Gardens close to terminal 2 of Frankfurt International Airport and just a short walk from the S-Bahn station “Gateway Gardens”.

Check Inn could be very busy, depending on the time of the day and especially during flight disruptions. This was not the case as I checked in. Two agents were available, but both busy. Waiting time was short and I was greeted as Diamond Members and told that I received an upgrade to an Executive Room. I was asked about my amenity and choose the points.
The hotel is built around a courtyard. Rooms facing the courtyard are quiet but lack any view. The Executive Rooms are slightly larger and at the corners of the building.

A small gym is located in the basement of the hotel and open 24/7. A restaurant and bar is located on the ground floor.

The executive rooms are slightly larger, but this is due to a longer hallway. The actual room is not much bigger. These rooms come with slight upgraded amenities like Nespresso machine, minibar with two bottles of beer, two bottles of coke and a bottle of still and sparkling water.

The bathroom is modern. My room came with shower; there are some rooms with bath available as well. Water pressure was good; towels were provided for two persons in small, medium and large size. The rooms have floor heating, which only is turned on in winter.

The rooms feature a grey-brown colour scheme. Space is a bit limited. A luggage shelf is available. Closet is small but me thinks that most people only stay for one night.

The bed is comfortable. Curtains block the light and there sound proofing is good (if the windows, which could be opened, are closed.
Staff is usually friendly and check out was quick.
