General Mamady Doumbouya is sworn in as president of Guinea during an official ceremony in the capital Conakry. “I... swear before God and the people of Guinea, on my honour, to respect and ensure strict compliance with the Constitution, laws, regulations, and court decisions,” says the new president as he took the oath of office at the Conakry stadium. The junta leader unsurprisingly won an election tailored for him on December 28 with 86.72% of the vote and a turnout of 80.95%.
