Here is an understated, easy soap design with a beautiful, delicate swirl at the bottom of a mostly white soap. What is that under the water? A shell? A rock? A stingray? A fish? An eel? A crab?
Rings of blues, black and purple soap are poured into a pouring pitcher. Then, the colors are poured into a mold filled with white soap using the ribbon swirl method. Two very simple swirls are made with a hanger tool to pull the color a bit. I am trying out some new, custom essential oil blends that I made. This is one of them. The white soap has a fragrance reminiscent of saltwater beaches. As a matter of fact, when I asked a family member to smell this blend, without any prompting from me, he immediately said that it smelled like the beach. It makes me think of fresh sea air and of salty ocean water. Here is the blend I used...
Ocean on Top blend:
27% Organic Orange Essential Oil
25% Grapefruit Essential Oil
20% Organic Lemon Essential Oil
19% Petitgrain Essential Oil
9% Anise Essential Oil
I added 1.45 oz of this blend to my 48 oz batch of soap. I would say it accelerated trace a bit, but gave me enough time for this simple pour and swirl.
