The science is in: excessive screen time can negatively impact mental health of teens and children, causing anxiety, depression, and other issues. We are seeing mental health challenges in elementary school children. Social media and gaming addiction can also lead to physical health problems like obesity and poor sleep quality. In this video, Keith will give you a strategy to protect your children from the negative impact of excessive screen time and social media addiction.
Several studies have shown that, when it came to screen time, kids who used screens more than one hour a day had poorer emerging literacy skills, less ability to use expressive language, and tested lower on the ability to rapidly name objects. In short, excessive screen time impairs a child's ability to learn to read.
Keith Deltano stayed back in third grade because he could not read. He has dyslexia, ADHD, and auditory processing disorder. He has built a remedial reading course as unlike the boring, redundant courses he went through as possible. Your child will learn to decode, read fluently, and comprehend what they are reading. They will even learn strategies to pass the EOGs (End of Grade tests.)
