On the weekend of the 8th & 9th September 2018 as part of the European Heritage Weekend the DCDR ran train services between Downpatrick & Inch Abbey with Steam Loco 0&K 1 and their beautifully restored heritage passenger set formed by BCDR Railmotor 72 , BCDR 148 & GSWR 836 and in this video we see some action from the DCDR on the 9/9/18.
The Heritage Set is normally on display in the Carriage Gallery at Downpatrick so on this weekend while 72 , 148 & 836 were running in passenger service 80 Class set 69 & 749 were on display in the carriage gallery.
The 8/9/18 & 9/9/18 was BCDR Railmotor 72's first days in passenger service since 1959 definitely a moment of railway history.
