The Amsterdam Suite was composed in 1995 and was premiered the following year by the Slaithwaite Philharmonic Orchestra. The first movement is a waltz sequence Barrel Organs, recalling the hurdy-gurdies postioned at strategic points in the city. Gavin Sutherland conducts The Royal Ballet Sinfonia.
