Baldur’s Gate 4 Just Got Destroyed by Wizards of the Coast!

Baldur’s Gate 4 might already be dead, and it hasn’t even been announced.

Wizards of the Coast just hired Corinne Busche, director of Dragon Age: Veilguard, to lead a “single player, character driven RPG” under Skeleton Key Studios. The same studio that scrapped their horror project right before WotC teased “the future of Baldur’s Gate.” Coincidence?

In this video, I break down why I believe Busche is leading Baldur’s Gate 4, and why that could be a total disaster. From Veilguard’s shallow systems to WotC’s track record with Dark Alliance, cancelled D&D games, and Hasbro’s monetization obsession, it’s the opposite of what made Baldur’s Gate 3 so legendary.

Larian is out. BioWare execs are in. And if the leaks are right, BG4 could be a Frankenstein sequel built on the corpse of a cancelled RPG.
