This winter is unusually warm here — around *+1°C instead of deep snow and -10 to -15°C* — so we decided to take advantage of it and do some real garden work.
In this video, I’m planting *pink Jerusalem artichokes (sunchokes)* in our **permaculture garden**, right in the grass between trees. This method helps:
use space more efficiently
slow down weed growth
integrate plants into a *living fence system*
You’ll see:
how I prepare planting holes in grass
the difference between regular and *pink Jerusalem artichoke varieties*
why the first year is for root establishment and the second year is full growth
how these plants can grow up to *2 meters tall*
why winter digging is actually great *cardio exercise*
I’m very curious to compare the *taste and growth* of this pink variety with the regular ones we’ve grown before.

Thanks for watching — see you in the garden 🌱
