The Prince of Wales and The Duchess of Cornwall present operational Afghanistan medals to the Parachute Regiment at Merville Barracks in Colchester, Essex. Around 500 Paratroopers received their medals during the ceremony. The Prince has been Colonel-in-Chief of the Parachute Regiment since 1977, when he received his wings for completing the Parachute Regiment course. The Duchess of Cornwall, who is Royal Colonel of 4th Battalion The Rifles, accompanied her husband to help present the medals.
