【カナダ留学】フリーハグで世界をつなぐ高校生Free Hugs in Canada

〜今回の企画の目的〜

私がカナダでフリーハグを行う理由は2つあります。1つ目は多様性を尊重したいからです。世界には所属の違いによる争いが沢山あります。フリーハグを通して、国や人種、性別、年齢、等を超えて人と繋がることで、身近なところから互いを認めあい、少しでも世界を繋げたいです。2つ目はやろうと思えば誰でもなんでもできるという事伝えたいからです。今回のフリーハグはたった１枚の紙と挑戦する勇気だけで挑みます。私は17歳ということは勿論、海外でフリーハグというのはリスクのあることかもしれません。ですが、多種多様な人々から得るものはきっと大きなものになると思います。以上のふたつの理由から、多様性の尊重と挑戦することの素晴らしさを私や、ハグしてくれる人だけでなく、Youtubeを通して多くの人に感じで貰い誰かの行動のきっかけになるために私は行動します。

〜学習したこと〜
人々はやはり、外見や国籍、考え方が違っても寄り添い合い、認め合うことができることがわかりました。ほんの一瞬のハグですが、ハグをしてくれた人やそれを周りで見ていた人の考え方になにか気づきを与えられていたらいいなと思います。中には目的にしていたこと以外にも、カナダの先住民問題について学習することが出来たり、LGBTや先住民の方に会うことが出来たり、現在問題となっているウクライナや、反日の国の方ともハグをすることが出来ました。
同じ世代の子達が多くハグをしに来てくれたことにも驚きました、もちろん中には5ドルあげるからあいつとハグして来いよーみたいな感じで言ってる人もいました。でも本当に同じ想いを持って周りの目を気にせずに、ちょっと待ってて！と友達や家族に言って来てくれる人もいました。日本ではある意味体験できないことで、カナダには多文化や多国籍の人達が共生していることを実感しました。最終的には映像に移りきらない程、人が集まり、いつの間にか列ができてるみたいなこともありました。誰かがいればやるという人も多いみたいです。でもそれは悪いことではなく、一緒に行ってみようよと声をかけてみるのは他人にきっかけを与えているのでいいと思いました。20カ国以上140名以上の人たちからハグをしてもらい、正直も思ったより人が沢山来ました。写真を撮ってくれた人や、SNSで拡散してくれた人も中にはいて、早速自ら動いてくれた様子が見れたのは良かったです。今後も今日の経験を生かして、生きていきます。ありがとうございました。

There are two reasons why I do Free Hugs in Canada. First, I want to respect diversity. There are many conflicts in the world due to different affiliations. Through free hugs, I want to connect with people regardless of country, race, gender, age, etc., to recognize each other from a familiar place and connect the world as much as possible. The second is because I want to tell you that anyone can do anything if they want to do it. This free hug will be challenged with just one piece of paper and the courage to challenge. Not to mention I'm 17 years old, free hugging abroad may be risky. However, I think that the benefits from a wide variety of people will surely be great. For these two reasons, I want to make people feel the wonder of respecting diversity and taking on challenges, not just me and those who hug me, but also through Youtube. Will act.


~ What I learned ~ It turns out that people can still be close to each other and recognize each other even if they have different appearances, nationalities, and ways of thinking. It's just a momentary hug, but I hope I've been given some awareness of the way of thinking of the person who hugged me and the people who were watching it. In addition to what I was aiming for, I was able to learn about indigenous peoples in Canada, meet LGBT and indigenous peoples, and the current problems of Ukraine and anti-Japanese countries. I was able to hug him.
I was surprised that many children of the same generation came to hug me, and of course some of them said that I would give you $ 5 so you hug her. But with the same feelings, don't worry about the eyes around you, just wait a minute! Some people told my friends and family. By not being able to experience it in a sense in Japan, I realized that multicultural and multinational people coexist in Canada. In the end, there were times when people gathered so much that it couldn't be transferred to the video, and it seemed that a line was formed before I knew it. It seems that there are many people who will do it if there is someone. But that's not a bad thing, and I think it's good to ask others to go with me because it gives them a chance. We had more than 140 people from more than 20 countries hug us, and to be honest, more people came than we expected. It was good to see some people taking pictures and people spreading it on SNS, and seeing them move on their own. I will continue to live by making use of today's experience. Thank you very much.
