Irlands Westküste und der Wild Atlantic Way | Motorradreise | 1. Folge | Rund um Irland

Irland, viel zu lange steht diese grüne Insel schon auf unserer Reiseliste und im Sommer 2019 haben wir für diese Motorradreise endlich genug Zeit im Gepäck. Ganze vier Wochen umrunden wir diese Insel. Das sind schon ein paar Kilometer, denn mit ihren 84.421 km² ist sie immerhin Europas drittgrößte Insel.

Unsere Reise startet im Süden und führt uns auf dem Wild Atlantic Way über Kinsale und die Panoramastraßen der Countys Cork und Kerry an der Westküste entlang, über die Cliffs of Moher bis nach Galway mit seinen urigen Pubs und der irischen Folkmusik. Dann geht es weiter ins County Mayo mit seinen einsamen Sandstränden, quer durch die Torfmooren des Connemara Nationalparks bis in den hohen Norden nach Malin Head, der nördlichste Zipfel der Insel. Und hier endet auch der erste Teil unserer Irlandreise.

Ich hoffe sehr, dass wir Euch mit diesen 30 Minuten ein wenig von der Faszination dieser Reise vermitteln können. Dabei haben wir nur einen kleine Teil dieser rauen Insel gesehen und viele Irlandkenner haben auch bestimmt so einiges vermisst. Diese Reise war die erste Begegnung mit einem Land, das uns echt begeistert hat.

Ireland, this green island was on our travel list just for a long time. Finally in summer 2019 we have enough time for this motorcycle journey. We had four weeks time to travel around this island. That's quite a few km, because with its 84,421 km² it is Europe's third largest island.

Our journey starts in Cork and takes us on the Wild Atlantic Way via Kinsale and the panoramic roads of Counties Cork and Kerry along the west coast, over the Cliffs of Moher to Galway with its quaint pubs and the typically irish folk music. Then we ride on to County Mayo with its lonely sandy beaches, across the peat bogs of Connemara National Park to the far north to Malin Head, the northernmost tip of the island. And this is where the first part of our trip to Ireland ends.

I sincerely hope that we can convey the fascination of this journey to you in these 30 minutes film. We know there is still so much to see. This Journey was the first encounter with land and people. A country that really excited us and we will be back, that's for sure.
