I first heard Lord Huron on the TV show 13 reasons why with his song The night we met. Also when Kirsten Stewart who was a childhood crush after the movies catch that kid and Twilight was narrating his song (and in the music video) who laughs last. I was rewatching the show when I saw he was coming to Utrecht but sold out! Then i saw hope. My company's policy is 20 days of paid holiday and I already use a huge amount of it going to concerts in other cities and queueing hours early for a good spot. So when I saw he was coming to eindhoven i decided to get there only 1.5 hours before doors open, going after work. Lord Huron really came out of nowhere xD As I said before, I met Kirsten Stewart in Catch that kid which was one of my first DVDs I think. It was about a group of teenagers who decided to try to break into a safe to collect money to pay for their dads sickness - and Kirsten Stewart was a child whose parent worked as an employee at the bank. And they were also into dirt bike racing if my memory serves me correctly. It was a cool movie kind of like Home alone where a child accomplishes the adult-like feat of stopping a burgery - and in this case robbing a bank. Then Twilight and 50 shades of grey in my teenage years as the moody teenage young adult novels about angsty teens in love with someone who has a lot of power and beauty. I remember pre-ordering Breaking Dawn 4th book in the series and reading it the first day it was released, and later when I was reading ebooks on my computer, my grandfather walked in to see what I was doing. It was the part in Eclipse or New Moon - I forget which - where Edward has left saying it is for her own good - and she has become depressed and lonely without him - and I think in the movie this was the part where they play the song Possibility. I love that song also. But I remember feeling awkward reading about depressed pining for love Bella with my grandfather behind me also looking at the screen probably wondering what is this strange book his grandson is reading 😂😂 And trying to skip through a bit faster than I was actually reading to make it less embarassing. Kirsten Stewart narrates and is in the music video for the song Who laughs last which was the kick-starter for the show of Lord Huron. If I were to describe Lord Huron in 1 word, it would be: soul. He has a emotional deepness in his music, a dreamer, an old wise soul yet playful mood.
