A behind the scenes look at the Saks 5th Avenue Folio catalog for Summer 1983.
In 1983-84 @DickFisher had a contract with YOU! Magazine, a fashion show on USA Cable Network. His company @VideographyProductionsInc shot many episodes, traveling to many picturesque locations with super models and the latest fashions. The show was hosted and produced by Edith (Edie) Locke a prominent Austrian-American magazine editor. She escaped Nazi Germany and began her career in publishing as a secretary at Harper’s Bazaar and later became an assistant editor at Junior Bazaar. She joined Mademoiselle in the early 1950s as an associate fashion editor and became editor-in-chief in 1971, a position she held until 1979.
Locke played a pivotal role in launching the careers of now-iconic designers, including Donna Karan, Ralph Lauren, and Betsey Johnson. She mentored them during their early careers, helping them gain visibility and credibility in the fashion world.
Locke’s vision helped shape the way a generation of women viewed themselves through fashion. Her work at Mademoiselle was described as having “helped shape the way a whole generation looked and imagined themselves”
